OUR PROGRAM AREAS

We are an all-volunteer run and managed organization and we accomplish our mission using a three-pronged approach:
We enlist residents of the Triangle area of North Carolina to financially support education and community development projects in African communities; We act as a local resource center dedicated to facilitating the integration of African immigrants into the Triangle Area; and
We raise awareness of African experiences and stories by providing educational outreach programs and volunteer foreign service-learning opportunities in African countries.

PROGRAMS:
Locally, Africa Project, Inc., serves as a community resource center for African immigrants, refugees and local communities. Some of these services are still being planned to be launched. Proposed and already functioning programs include:
Language training and translations, ESL, etc.
Employment assistance, job search, resume writing, applying for jobs, etc.
Basic computer training. Computer applications for example, word processing.
Social services referrals, for example, health and medical, education and social security.
Citizenship and Acculturation programs.
Community outreach programs aimed at fostering cross-cultural understanding and building a better understanding and highlighting the challenges that face African immigrants in the area.
Africa volunteer and internship programs sending volunteers to travel and work in African countries working with community-based organizations promoting community development programs, community partnership, technology and skill transfer.
Africa Student Action: This is a High School and College Africa Project student groups formed to support the work of Africa Project by gathering education resources, organization events, creating awareness and engaging students to get involved in development programs in Africa.
